Alex Joiner

Hailing from Alabama, Alex Joiner is a full-time, self-taught wood carver who only began carving in 2018, but has already been receiving wide recognition. In 2019, Alex was named as the youngest recipient of the Special Merit Award from the Caricature Carvers of America and in 2020, was named as one of the "top 5 wood carvers to watch for" by Woodcarving Illustrated.

Alex uses a variety of knives & gouges (including Flexcut!) to hand carve beautiful, artistic wood spirits, ornaments, cowboys, and of course, his famous Santa Clauses. He says it gives him a way to express his creativity, and that seeing vintage works inspires him to keep carving so this art form won't be lost. Each piece he creates is handcrafted and 100% custom. 

When he's not creating amazing works of art, Alex enjoys his downtime - sleeping, eating, spending time with family and friends while doing a little woodworking here and there.
