Carved from Black Alder and painted with acrylic, I wanted to make not only a visual artwork but one that’s interactive too. My biggest inspiration was Jimothy himself and how he runs, jumps and climbs his way through life. I tried to capture not only his form but his personality too while reimagining him as a wooden marionette.
About: Hello! My name is Charlotte and I’m a 20 year old Australian. I’ve always loved arts and crafts but I really found my passion when I picked up a book on whittling two years ago. Since then I’ve carved two marionettes, some small figures and watched a lot of wood carving videos. My journey learning all about timber, tools and wood carving techniques has been wonderful and I hope to continue to learn more and improve as an artist.
