He's Planning Something
Pavlo Nazarchuk
This medallion is not just wood. When I first started carving, I felt the wood resisting. I simply wanted to make a beautiful pattern. But then I thought of the raccoon — of its nimble paws, opening latches and turning everything upside down. That inspired me. It inspired me not to create something passive, but something active. A raccoon is not about a cute picture; it is about the freedom you can only gain with your own hands. Its paw, engraved on the back, is a symbol that freedom must be "taken." It inspires me not to wait for permission, but to act. This medallion reminds me that even when we are stuck in our own "tree hollows" (routines, problems), the power of liberation lies in our hands, in our touch, in our bold step forward.
About: I have been passionate about woodworking since childhood, so I earned a professional degree in wood carving to turn my passion into a lifelong craft. Today in my workshop, I create soulful wooden sculptures, detailed accessories, and original decor, with every piece preserving the warmth of natural wood and the rich texture of hand carving.
